Actress Apu Biswas converted to Islam from Hinduism

Dhaka: Actress Apu Biswas said she had converted to Islam from Hinduism to marry Bangla filmdom hero Shakib Khan.

She revealed it in an interview given to a private television channel on Monday.

Apu said she married Shakib at his Gulshan residence on April 18, 2008 in accordance with Islam. A quazi (marriage registrar) who was brought in Dhaka from Bhanga in Faridpur district registered their marriage. In the marriage document, Apu Biswas' name was written as Apu Islam Khan and her religion was mentioned as Islam.

On September 27, 2016, Apu gave birth to a baby boy at a clinic in Kolkata. The boy was named Abraham Khan Joy.

Despite Apu's requests, Shakib Khan did not go to the hospital during the birth of their child.

Apu said Shakib Khan had requested her to conceal their marriage issue though all of the members of Shakib Khan's family knew about it.

Though he did not inform anyone else about his marraige, Shakib Khan frequently visits Apu's house to see his son. Members of Shakib family also go to Apu's house to see his son.

Apu also said Shakib Khan meets all the expenses of his son.
